Paris Saint-Germain clinched a record 11th Ligue 1 title on Saturday, but it was a season full of low points for the French giants.

PSG's 1-1 draw at Strasbourg secured the trophy with a round to spare, but the celebrations were muted after a campaign that saw the club knocked out of the Champions League in the last 16 by Real Madrid and the French Cup by Nice.

The season was also marred by off-field controversy, with coach Mauricio Pochettino sacked in December and replaced by Christophe Galtier.

Despite the setbacks, PSG still finished the season with a comfortable 15-point lead over second-placed Marseille.

Kylian Mbappe was the star of the show, scoring 28 goals in Ligue 1, and the French striker is expected to stay at the club after turning down a move to Real Madrid.

Mbappe's decision to stay is a major boost for PSG, who will be hoping to finally win the Champions League next season.

However, the club will need to address their defensive problems if they are to achieve their goal. PSG conceded 36 goals in Ligue 1, the most of any of the top four teams.

PSG's title win is a reminder of their dominance of French football, but it is also a reminder that they still have work to do if they are to become a major force in Europe.
